Paragard Lawsuit Defendants
The manufacturers of Paragard IUD have convinced the MDL judge to toss dozens of lawsuits. In a ruling that heavily favored Teva Pharmaceuticals and CooperSurgical, Judge May dismissed claims from plaintiffs in Idaho, Mississippi, New York, Alabama, Michigan, Virginia, and Texas, citing statutes of limitations—even though many women suffered severe injuries long after their devices first fractured.
